If you work in law enforcement, you know how important public perception is—and these days, so much of that comes from what people see online. Every post, every graphic, every update shapes how your community sees you.
Here’s the problem: creating good content takes time. A lot of time. And let’s be honest—most officers didn’t sign up to be graphic designers. That’s where 10-4 Creative comes in.
What We Do (And Why It Matters)
The idea behind 10-4 Creative is simple: we take social media content off your plate, so you can focus on the job.
Your message matters, and it shouldn’t get lost because a post looks rushed or generic. We make sure your content looks professional, sends the right message, and actually connects with your community—without you spending hours trying to figure out Canva at the end of your shift.
Who This Is For
Our services are designed for:
Chiefs and command staff who want their agency’s online presence to match the professionalism of their officers.
PIOs and communications teams who need quality content without burning out.
Agencies without a dedicated social media person who still want to keep their community informed and engaged.
Why I Started This
I’ve seen how frustrating this can be. You’re juggling calls, reports, staffing issues—and now you’re supposed to be a content creator too? Social media takes time, and when it’s rushed, the message gets lost.
Here’s my take: Cops aren’t graphic designers. I am. Let me handle it for you, so your agency looks sharp online and your team can focus on what really matters.
About Me
Hi, I’m Emily, the founder of 10-4 Creative. Law enforcement isn’t just something I know—it’s part of who I am. My dad was a Sheriff’s deputy for 26 years, and growing up with him in this profession shaped everything about how I see the job.
Some of my favorite memories? Listening to his stories at the dinner table, watching him stand in the back of my school plays or softball games in full uniform, and knowing that he would be there for every big moment (just sometimes with a radio cackling on his belt). That life taught me what service and sacrifice look like—and why I care so much about the people behind the badge.
My mom, on the other hand, worked just as hard, building her career in PR and marketing. So, in a way, this work is the perfect combination of where I come from: law enforcement and communication.
Professionally, I’ve worked inside a Sheriff’s Office as a Public Information Officer, social media manager, and department photographer. I’m trained in PIO duties and hold a degree in Advertising and Art & Design from the University of Illinois (go Illini!). Add years of experience in photography and design, and you get someone who truly understands both sides of the job—the culture of law enforcement and the art of communication.
These days, I live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband and our yellow lab, Ellie. I’m a big fan of the Cubs and Bears, and I love photography, decorating my house for holidays, baking, and an occasional laser engraver or painting project.
Let’s Make This Easy for You
If you’re tired of spending hours trying to make your agency’s posts look good, we should talk. 10-4 Creative was built to help law enforcement tell their story the right way—quickly, clearly, and professionally.
